It is a year since the battle of Yavin IV. The Imperial fleet, under Lord Vader, has been busy trying to locate rebel bases, and capture the rebel high-command. He seems especially interested in the group led by Princess Leia and including the hero of Yavin IV, commander Skywalker. ISB (Imperial Intelligence) agents have flooded the outer areas of the galaxy, looking for leads and other intelligence. COMPNOR (the propoganda wing of the New Order) is conducting propoganda and 're-education' campaigns in order to reduce support for the Rebellion.
The Alliance Command has determined this must be countered, at all costs.
General Cracken, the chief of Alliance Intelligence, has decided to create self-contained strike teams, of 4-6 members, in order to further the aims of the Alliance without allocating large resources. These teams are to be named Alpha, Beta, etc. Each will operate from a seperate Alliance base or world, and not know the identities of other groups, unless absolutely necessary. they will be briefed verbally by base commanders.
The missions of the teams will include:
- Causing disruption to the Imperial war-effort, especially those parts aimed at the Rebellion.
- Countering Imperial propaganda, where possible.
- Rendering aid to Rebel cells on Imperial-controlled planets.
- Breaking Alliance prisoners out of Imperial prisons, preferably before they are interrogated.
- Gaining intelligence, and disrupting ISB intelligence efforts.
- Contacting force-users who may sympathise with the aims of the Rebellion.
- Any missions as determined by the base commander or Alliance high command.
Your characters are the members of Strike Team Gamma. They are based on a Rebel base on Jarred III, a world in the Crassus sector, in the outer-rim.
